Hey, did you catch the Golden Globes last night? Well, if not here’s what you missed:
Good news if your name was featured on the La La Land poster: you probably won an award! Damien Chazelle’s retro musical swept its categories, taking Best Picture, Actor, Actress (all for Musical or Comedy), Director, Screenplay, Song, and Score.
Host Jimmy Fallon kicked things off with a fun La La Land parody (above) that encompassed the year in pop culture and featured a couple genuinely smile-inducing moments. He would soon after throw away all that goodwill in order to sing “Chastain and the Redmayne” to the tune of “Insane in the Membrane.”
Hugh Laurie made a little political jab in his speech. Then, as she is known to do, Meryl Streep upstaged the shit out of him.
While Ryan Gosling was accepting his Golden Globe, Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield shared a passionately hammy smooch, thus preventing Gos from also clinching Most Impossibly Charming Foreign-Born Handsome.
