Ever wanted your memories of Mister Rogers replaced with Tom Hanks’s face? Well, then it’s a beautiful day for you, neighbor, because here it is with the A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood trailer. Hanks puts on his cardigan and indoor sneakers to star as Rogers for Can You Ever Forgive Me? director Marielle Heller in what seems to be a PBS Almost Famous where the subject feeds fish instead of jumping off a roof into a pool. The film sees a reporter (Matthew Rhys) profiling Rogers for a piece on heroes; he learns that as revolting as the Lady Elaine puppet may be, there aren’t any darker secrets hidden beneath. This dude is wholesome as shit.
