However questionable a Watchmen sequel TV series once sounded, the actualization of that idea is increasingly making a case for itself. Have a look with HBO’s new Watchmen trailer, featuring the likes of Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, and Louis Gossett Jr.
Set long after the events of the seminal comic books, when superheroes have been outlawed, costumed vigilantes start making a comeback in varied, often violent ways—forcing Doctor Manhattan and Ozymandias (Irons) out of their apparent self-imposed exiles. Damon Lindelof created the series, and he seems to have brought over some of his big ideas and big music cues from Leftovers.
We’ll see whether Lindelof also brought over Justin Theroux to belittle the common man as his slap-down, hang-dongin‘ Manhattan when Watchmen comes to HBO this October.
