Multiple outlets are reporting that director and actor Penny Marshall has died from complications of diabetes. She was 75.
Beyond her iconic role in Laverne & Shirley (and beyond a handful of other solid performances), Marshall was even more so an accomplished director, helming such beloved films as Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Big, Awakenings, and A League of Their Own. Her final directorial effort, a documentary about Dennis Rodman, is still in post-production for a release next year.
