Having now committed to Aquaman and Shazam movies, Warner Bros. is ready to kick it into next gear. According to The Wrap, the studio has started development on a movie about Blue Beetle—though not the one we at TV-VCR have actively campaigned for. This is not the Ted Kord version of Blue Beetle, so often teamed with Booster Gold; this is Jaime Reyes, the El Paso-born Latino teen who next finds the scarab that bestows on him the mantle of Blue Beetle. Like with Marvel’s starting Ant-Man with Scott Lang, it’s a move that could easily work, but also skips over one of our great bug-men. So we’ll see how it goes.
