Well, Carrie Mulligan is now the Batman of the #metoo era. Have a look with the trailer for Promising Young Woman, a film that sees Mulligan as a woman who puts on a costume of drunkenness to catch would-be “nice guy” rapists in the act. She’s supported and/or criminally attacked by a solid lineup that includes the likes of Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Adam Brody, Laverne Cox, Max Greenfield, Molly Shannon, Alfred Molina, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Clancy Brown, and Jennifer Coolidge. Killing Eve showrunner Emerald Fennell wrote and directed the thing, so we’ll give it a chance when it hits theaters April 17.
