Check out the trailer for the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror fairytale Tigers Are Not Afraid

A Spanish-language horror fairytale set against a brutal war? Yeah, that sounds like a Guillermo del Toro alright—but in this case, he’s just producing. It’s write-director Issa López behind the camera for Tigers Are Not Afraid, a dark fantasy about orphans, ghosts, magic wishes, modern Mexican drug wars, and a bipedal tiger. It’s won high praise from the likes of Stephen King and Neil Gaiman, and here’s a look with its first trailer.

This haunting Frosted Flakes commercial heads to theaters this August before streaming on Shudder.
