The Vice Principals team of Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and David Gordon Green are at it again with giving HBO some unbearable Southern blowhards in a dark comedy series. Have a look with the new trailer for The Righteous Gemstones, a re-teaming of Vice Principals principals McBride, Walton Goggins, and Edi Patterson that now also tosses John Goodman, Adam DeVine, and Dermot Mulroney in the mix.
Goodman plays patriarch to a trio of kids (McBride, DeVine, and Patterson) in line to inherit his throne as a famous televangelist. As anyone who’s seen Eastbound & Down or V.P. could guess, all of these people are terrible and frequently shouting.
Their loud assholery hits HBO August 18.
