Disney developing new Star Wars movie set in Rise of Skywalker‘s evil gloom-world

Exegol: the worst place for golf.

Disney and Lucasfilm are taking us back to a place where the sun don’t shine, it’s constantly storming, and the central attraction is the universe’s largest jar of Snokes.

According to Deadline, the studios are in early development on a new Star Wars feature set on Exegol, The Rise of Skywalker‘s secret Sith planet that seemed to just be a spaceship parking lot above a single dismal temple. Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. writer is working on the screenplay, with Sleight‘s J.D. Dillard—who had small roles both behind and in front of the camera on J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars outings—attached to direct.

If nothing else, the two at least have a fairly clean slate to work with. As in, they literally have to work with a planet that just looks like a fairly clean slate.
