No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to… VACATION—in fabulous Jamaica!
And that’s apparently what we too can expect from James Bond’s 25th outing of murder and STI acquisition.
MGM and EON Productions have just released their still-untitled Bond film’s cast list and synopsis, the latter revealing that this one follows an all-too-familiar formula: cool, aging spy guy wants to give it all up and retire in the tropics, only to be pulled back in.
Here’s the official setup:
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
The returning cast includes ol’ Danny Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Léa Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Wishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright.
Newcomers to the series include Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, and recent Oscar-winner Rami Maleck—who all but confirmed rumors he’s the villain in this video claiming he “will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it.”
Given the history of Bond villains, good thing we already measured the guy for dental appliances.
