Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds to re-team for a Clue remake

“Mr. Green Lantern, in the conservatory…”
A prescient mock-up

As ominously foretold in TV-VCR’s own Game Night review art, the star of Teen Wolf Too is getting his own shot at Clue.

Coming off a directing Emmy for Ozark, Jason Bateman is reportedly returning to film for his third feature, a new adaptation of the classic whodunit board game. According to Deadline, Bateman and Ryan Reynolds are developing a script draft for Reynolds’ Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to run with. Bateman and Reynolds are also producing and expected to co-star.

While 1985’s Clue has long maintained its status as a cult favorite, opponents of a remake should remember that Clue is a game meant to be played again and again, and unfortunately that sometimes means being played by the cast of The Change-Up.
