More bad news for Tom Holland: his Uncharted movie lost its director

Just days since losing his spot at the Marvel Cinematic Universe kids’ table, Tom Holland has been hit with another loss: his Uncharted director.

According to Deadline, 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg is the latest in the ever-growing list of people who have decided they want nothing to with this stupid video game adaptation.

In development for over a decade now, the film has already lost several directors—David O. Russell, Seth Gordon, and Shawn Levy among them. And that’s without getting into the numerous writers and actors who have worked on or outright turned down the project. (Seth Rogen and Chris Pratt wisely sit in the latter category.)

You’d think Sony would just give it up at this point, but as they’ve shown in recent days, they’ll make whatever decisions they have to in their pursuit of profits and screwing over Holland. The actor remains attached to play a young Nathan Drake, and it’s said the studio is already taking meetings for another director that will probably not end up actually making this thing.
