The Mandalorian trailer finally puts Werner Herzog in a Star War

Who’d have thought Carl Weathers and Werner Herzog would ever share the screen—let alone within the Star Wars universe. But, well, here they are in the trailer for The Mandalorian, a new series headed to the Disney+ streaming service this fall.

Pedro Pascal stars the least literal Fett clone yet, a Mandalorian bounty hunter of questionable moral character. He’s joined by an eclectic, thoroughly intriguing cast that includes Weathers (“Baby, you got a Gungan stew goin’!”), Herzog, Nick Nolte, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi (who also directs an episode), Bill Burr, Ming-Na Wen, Mark Boone Junior, and Natalia Tena.

For as much as Boba Fett and his ilk have been needlessly built up by fandom, this thing looks like a hell of a Star War.

We’ll see how it plays out when The Mandalorian hits the small screen November 12. But at least it plays well with the horrifying new Cats trailer:
