In development since at least 2011, then with Bryan Singer helming, the Six Million Dollar Man reboot (The Six Billion Dollar Man, naturally) now understandably has a different, less predatory director lined up.
According to Variety, now this thing will be led by Travis Knight, director of Bumblebee. Mark Wahlberg, attached to star in 2014, somehow remains set to play Steve Austin; astronaut; a man barely alive; the world’s first bionic man; better than he was before—better (to reiterate), stronger, faster. It’s a very Transformers-heavy production, and again a time we’ll have to watch Mark Wahlberg paired with some mechanical nonsense in a horribly ill-fated reinvention of a decades-old property. Cool!
