Still determinedly clinging to the goth phase of their ’30s, Universal has set yet another classic monster movie in motion.
With about a dozen other projects about mummies or wolfmen or whatever in the works, the studio has now started development on a movie about Van Helsing, famed Dracula hunter. James Wan is producing, and Julius Avery is set to direct and re-write a script that’s being kept secret. Avery was the saving grace of 2018’s Overlord, though, so his involvement is welcome. Anyone who isn’t Hugh Jackman as steampunk Lorenzo Lamas is not.
