Watch some shorts by David Lynch and the Safdies

Happy birthday, David Lynch! On Sunday, the auteur, Twin Peaks co-creator, transcendental meditationist, and quinoa cooker turned 74. Since you can’t fit that many candles in the pile of still-warm panties Lynch would most love to gobble down like a cake, Netflix gave him a different gift: prominent streaming for What Would Jack Do?, a 15-minute short that sees the filmmaker having a conversation with a capuchin monkey. Friends is back, everyone! Check it out here.

But Lynch isn’t the only hitting us with a duotone short in recent days. Last week, Uncut Gems writer-directors Josh & Benny Safdie continued their collaboration with Adam Sandler in Goldman v Silverman, a six-minute film that sees Sandler and Benny as rival Times Square robot street performers.

While we at TV-VCR have long been proponents of Lynch playing Galactus alongside a Kyle MacLachlan Silver Surfer in a Marvel film, we have to admit… Benny Safdie has made his case to take on the latter role.
