Back when it was still being called Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Justice League: Director’s Cut was announced as a four-part, four-hour limited series. But the movie about Superman returning from the dead to team up with Aquaman and fight Darkseid’s metal-spike-covered uncle was never intended to be television. It is not TV. It is Cinema.
So, now Justice League: Director’s Cut will be an insufferably long movie.
Responding to a question from Vero’s only other documented user, Zack Snyder reportedly revealed that now the four-hour revision will hit HBO Max as a single entity.
The film’s new, ham-fisted theme of being overwhelming through being united has never felt more painfully on-the-nose.
