“Inspired by true events”—though clearly pretty damn loosely—Hunters sees a group of action-spy movie-style specialists going vigilante on the clandestine Nazis living in 1977 New York. Al Pacino is the apparent Professor X of this superhero group, with Logan Lerman starring as the newcomer audience surrogate to introduce us to a Nazi issue lesser known than either the original Nazi issue or the current Nazi issue. Presumably some of these Nazis will reveal their swastika tattoos by raising their bell-bottoms, or reveal their Nazi support by nodding too enthusiastically at the Stormtroopers when they see the Star Wars.
