Ostentatious hat-wearers Jude Law and Taika Waititi are heading to a comic book franchise outside the watchful eye of their Marvel Cinematic Universe roles.
Showtime is reportedly in talks to head up development on The Auteur, a limited series Waititi has written, with Law already attached to star. Based on Rick Spears’s comic book series of the same name, the story follows Nathan T. Rex, a Hollywood producer coming off the biggest bomb in history. The failure sends him on a depraved, drug-addled quest to redeem himself with his latest picture: the latest over-budget, behind-schedule entry to horror franchise Presidents Day.
