Well, we’ve just had remakes of Emma and Little Women, so why not another remake of a century-or-two-old book that somehow remains an incredibly dated mainstay for young women?
Why not indeed says this first trailer for The Secret Garden, the fourth adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s 1911 novel. Not markedly improved from Agnieszka Holland’s Francis Ford Coppola-produced 1993 adaptation, the film again sees a girl (who’s of course an orphan) discovering a hidden-away garden. Don’t worry: she still wears a prominent cap! And you can see her in it later this year when The Secret Garden hits theaters April 17.
