In Bruges and High Life teams are being reunited

Good news for fans of In Bruges and/or High Life: the people who did those things are respectively doing another thing together!

Deadline reports that In Bruges writer-director Martin McDonagh is bringing back Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson for his next film, The Banshees of Inisheer. Set on a remote Irish island, the almost surely darkly-comic movie sees the two as “lifelong friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship with alarming consequences for both of them.” That’s why you never do a friend breakup on a remote island.

Deadline is likewise reporting that Claire Denis is bringing back her strong-jawed Batman for her next feature, The Stars at Noon. It’s said the writer-director of the quite nice High Life has cast Robert Pattinson opposite Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood‘s Margaret Qualley for a film set in 1984, amidst the Nicaraguan Revolution. The stars will be the attractive white people we follow instead of any actual Nicaraguans, with Pattinson playing “a mysterious English businessman” and Qualley playing a “headstrong American journalist,” the two striking up a romance and finding themselves “embroiled in a dangerous labyrinth of lies and conspiracies.”

Sadly, there seems to be no part for High Life‘s true star: the Fuck Box.
