Yikes. Another controversial casting choice by Disney as reports claim the studio is looking to cast this guy who isn’t even actual royalty to play Prince Eric in their live-action Little Mermaid.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harry Styles, whose mother was not of a queen’s blood, is in talks to sign on to the remake as the love interest of Halle Bailey’s mermaid Ariel. It’s said he would also be joining the likes of Awkwafina, Jacob Tremblay, and Melissa McCarthy, who’s being lined up to play Ursula despite not being the late drag queen Divine in an octopus costume.
