At last, there will be a Disney villain who’s also a vocal antagonist of Palestine!
Deadline brings word that Gal Gadot is in final talks to star opposite Rachel Zegler’s titular Snow White in Disney’s live-action adaptation of their 1937 animated classic. Gadot will play a villain so iconic that she doesn’t even have a name beyond some vague descriptors: the Evil Queen. She’s a queen and she’s evil. Don’t worry about what exactly she’s queen of or whether or not her name is literally “Evil.” This is a story primarily about apples and dwarfs and kisses.
It’s said the live-action take “will expand upon the story and music from the original,” with Pasek and Paul—the songwriting duo behind duo behind La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen—writing some new pieces for the film. And who better to sing some songs than the woman behind one of the most variously-tone-deaf covers ever recorded?
