You WOULD Get Chills at Netflix’s New ‘GLOW’ Trailer

Loosely based on the real-life organization “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling,” GLOW is Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan’s return to the world of eccentric, penned up, combative, uniformed women. Kohan is executive producing the comedy-drama series, which was co-created by Nurse Jackie writer-producers Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive. Alison Brie stars as an aspiring actress in the ’80s who’s sick of all the shallow, incidental “secretary” roles offered to her. She subsequently joins the titular group, bonding with a ragtag group of similarly-frustrated, leotard-wearing women. Marc Maron co-stars as the washed-up B-movie director guiding this crew of estrogen-fueled body-slammers. Catch [whatever Brie’s character’s character is named]amania when the full series hits Netflix on June 23. In the meantime, enjoy this hairspray-scented new trailer above.
