Jeremy Renner is once again set to play the not-as-cool character in a comic book movie. According to Deadline, he’s now attached to join Jamie Foxx in Todd MacFarlane’s Spawn reboot. Though Foxx is playing the title character, it’s said Renner will be the face of the film as “Twitch” Williams, the detective who plays the brains to Spawn’s cape-swaddled brawn. MacFarlane, who’s making his directorial debut here, previously said that Spawn will be a near-silent presence lurking through the film, leaving Renner the bulk of the lines and the only presence suggesting we haven’t time-traveled back to 1997.
