Honey, I Shrunk the Kids director Joe Johnston may return to the franchise—and just in time to see Josh Gad for some reason take it over!
According to Variety, Johnston is in talks with Disney to helm yet another of Hollywood’s remake-cum-sequels, a follow-up that would see Rick Moranis’s son from the original now shrinking his own children. Don’t you hate becoming your parent in the most absurd, obtuse way possible?
Josh Gad pitched this not-much-of-an-idea over half a year ago, and he’s in talks to star as the Honey child all grown up. At last, the story of the boy who got shrunk in 1989 and who now doomed his own kids to that will be told.
