Looks like James Gunn is continuing his trend of dropping a wrestler comedy ringer who can’t be seen into his ragtag groups of superhero miscreants. As reported by Variety, John Cena has joined the cast of Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel-cum-reboot.
While Margot Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn and, surprisingly, Jai Courtney is returning as Captain Boomerang, Cena joins Idris Elba in being cast in a yet-unknown capacity. But given Cena’s look, him replacing Joel Kinnaman as the military Rick Flag seems like a decent option.
