The star of The Young Pope will once again play the leader of a group of men who prey on young boys.
According to Variety, Jude Law is set to play Captain Hook in Disney’s latest live-action reinvention of an animated classic, Peter Pan & Wendy. Adaptations of J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan tales aren’t in short supply—Beasts of the Southern Wild writer-director Benh Zeitlin just gave us his spin earlier this year—but this one too boasts an impressive indie name at the helm. A Ghost Story writer-director David Lowery is attached to give this reboot the same undeserved magic he brought to Disney’s Pete’s Dragon.
The studio has yet to officially confirm that of course they’re just gonna lob Mr. Smee to Josh Gad.
