Chris Pratt’s Emmet, Elizabeth Banks’s Lucy, Will Arnett’s Batman, and the rest of your favorite crude little plastic people are back in The Lego Movie 2: The Second One. And this time, they have some new friends, too. Tiffany Haddish plays Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Stephanie Beatriz voices General Sweet Mayhem, and now Pratt’s pulling double duty as Rex Dangervest—a stubbled adventurer who spoofs Pratt’s live-action blockbuster roles (and a long-rumored one).
Opening on a Mad Max: Fury Road parody sure to delight the youngsters, this first trailer sees Lucy getting abducted by aliens, sending Emmet and friends on an intergalactic rescue mission. While animation vets Mike Mitchell and Trisha Gum have taken over directing duties for this one, rest assured the script still comes from the original’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller (now joined by their Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs assistant Mike Mitchell). Lord and Miller may have been booted off Solo, but thankfully, some franchise bricks are harder to unseat. You have to use your teeth, and it’s super annoying.
The Lego Movie 2 hits theaters in February.
