Remember a couple years ago, when Lionsgate bought some script about an assassin lady and decided to retrofit it into the John Wick universe? Well, they only just remembered too.
So now they finally hired someone to make it: Len Wiseman, the Underworld director who is the answer to “was that some Paul W. S. Anderson shit or was it the other guy who married the star of his unending piece of trash of an action-horror franchise?”
The film is currently titled Ballerina, coming from the writer of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. As its name implies, it focuses on one of the dancers in Russian Anjelica Huston’s troupe; the answer to, “was that Red Sparrow or that other, even more forgettable take on a ballerina-turned-killer?”
