The latest Ryan Murphy project about some singing, old-ass high schoolers, Prom is Netflix’s adaptation of the stage musical of the same name. The film sees Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, and Andrew Rannells as washed up actors trying to boost their image by backing a cause. They settle on helping out a lesbian teen whose small town Indiana school’s PTA head (Kerry Washington) won’t let her take a girl to prom. Song and dance ensues! And in the end, we learn that it’s not that we should keep lesbians out of proms, but keep James Corden out of being in every goddamn musical adaptation. Between him and Josh Gad, there’s really no avoiding these plump little songbirds, huh?
The Prom begins streaming December 11.
