Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer: The negotiations were short; his story apparently isn’t

Is Obi-Wan Kenobi’s limited series a return to George Lucas’s Akira Kurosawa-inspired origins, a film about a lone samurai making his way through the desert—a general long-dwelling on the successes and failures of a war he can’t forget? Or is it just another Book of Boba Fett, dragging some animated characters and an old Star Wars favorite into a show that will tepidly fill a gap that didn’t need filling between some decades-old films? You probably already know the answer, but go ahead and reaffirm that suspicion with this trailer for Obi Wan-Kenobi.

The Disney+ series sees Ewan McGregor return to what is unfortunately his most famous role, because not enough people were delighted by Big Fish. It seems to see some Bad Guys looking for Kenobi, while Kenobi himself is a creep looking at young Luke—as if we ever needed to see that.

Nonetheless, we can and most likely will see that when Obi-Wan Kenobi streams May 27.
