An elaboration of the 2013 Funny or Die short of the same name, the film sees our former Harry Potter once again in some iconic specs as the world’s most famous accordion-based parodist. True to “Weird” Al’s musical form, it seems to take the familiar beats of some other artist biopics and spoof them into something goofy, white, and nerdy. Also, now the titular artist is shorter but way more shredded.
Yankovic co-wrote the script with original Weird creator Eric Appel, who also directs.
Weird: The Al Yankovic story hits the Roku Channel, the aptly UHF channel equivalent of streaming, this fall.
