Rise of Skywalker hatred be damned, Disney and Lucasfilm have decided to fall back on their dubious strategy of letting one of those Lost boys make a Star War.
According to Deadline, Star Trek Into Darkness writer Damon Lindelof will be joining his Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams in jumping space franchises, joining Justin Britt-Gibson (The Counterpart) to pen a new Star Wars movie. Ms. Marvel’s Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy has already been lined up to direct and guide the still-nascent script.
There are already at least two other Star Wars films currently in the works, with Patty Jenkins helming Rogue Squadron and Taika Waititi developing a still-unknown project. But, hey—here’s another one of those!
