The very, very long-developing plan to adapt Neil Gaiman’s Sandman for the screen seems to finally be happening. Netflix today announced that they’ve fully cast their production—which is at least further than Joseph Gordon-Levitt got a few years back. Tom Sturridge gets to have the Robert Smith hair as Dream, with Gwendoline Christie’s Lucifer, Vivienne Acheampong’s Lucienne, Charles Dance’s Roderick Burgess, Sanjeev Bhaskar’s Cain, Asim Chaudry’s Abel, and Boyd Holbrook’s Corinthian rounding out the series.
Some may be bothered that the gender and race of some characters has been switched up, to which we must say, look, we’re talking about the “head librarian of the Dreaming” and shit here. We don’t know what to tell you. You got your pale, brooding, angular Dream, so give it a rest.
