Look, for as removed and snide as we can often be around here, we have made not attempt at hiding our love for Robert Pattinson and Bong Joon-ho. These guys are doing some of the coolest, most interesting things on the big screen, both choosing some great ways to work with other great people. So let us set aside any sneering cynicism and just plainly say, fuck yeah, Pattingon and Bong are teaming up.
Deadline brings word that the two will be teaming up for Mickey7, a film Bong will write and direct based on Edward Ashton’s upcoming sci-fi novel of the same name.
For Pattinson, it will be a loose return to his wonderful High Life role as a purposely-expendable space explorer. He stars in the title role, playing the seventh iteration of man whose job is to be sent on ice-world colony’s dangerous or suicidal missions. Every time he does indeed die, he’s regenerated at the colony with most of his memory intact. And the worst part? He keeps writing the wrong date on his checks.
