Very on-brand for a meta slasher movie about slasher movie conventions, Scream is getting yet another sequel.
Paramount and Spyglass have reportedly given an early greenlight for a sixth chapter of the property—this while the latest Scream is still in theaters, currently with over $100 million grossed worldwide. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are set to once again direct, with writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick likewise returning. Though is that not disregarding the classic horror convention of letting Rob Zombie or Marcus Nispel take a stab or two at the belated franchise entry?
