Two of the most influential and iconic directors on opposite sides of Hollywood will at last meet. As is typical, the one who lives way out there is being forced to make the trek to the comfortable side of town.
Variety brings word that David Lynch will make one of his rare acting appearances in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans. The film is a semi-autobiographical effort for Spielberg, with Michelle Williams set to play his fake mom, Paul Dano to play his pseudo dad (but will he still get beat up like usual…?), and Seth Rogen attached as a take on Spielberg’s favorite uncle.
While Lynch’s role remains in question, the bigger question is just what kind of childhood could Spielberg have possibly had that he grew up with “a David Lynch type.”
