SpaceCamp remake to imagine NASA space program still functional

Back in the 1986, when Double Dare was just hitting the small screen, there was actually a larger if since forgotten piece of entertainment building up space camp as being totally rad.

That thing: SpaceCamp, a film that saw the likes of Lea Thompson, Kelly Preston, and Joaquin Phoenix as some space camp kids who end up accidentally launched in an actual shuttle. It happens!

And now, with Disney+ looking to make absolutely anything at all to fill their streaming platform, they’re reportedly at work on a remake that would see this extremely possible scenario occur for a second time.

SNL writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell have been hired to write the script, though, so if nothing else, maybe now Tom Hanks and some skeletons can keep weirdly showing up outside the airlock?
