The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D already spun off into a reboot-cum-sequel, Robert Rodriguez is moving on to his other charmingly cheap-looking kiddie adventure of the ’00s. According to Deadline, he’s teaming with Skydance Media to relaunch Spy Kids for a new generation of impromptu child espionage agents. Rodriguez is returning to write and direct. The only change to the format currently known is that, while the original focused on a Latino family, this time they’re “multicultural.” Spy Kids is a franchise in which the only color that you’re judged by is the intensity of your green screen.
