Facing the impending threat of The Office leaving their streaming service at the end of the year, Netflix has launched a direct countermeasure: Space Force.
Co-created by Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, the comedy series sees Carell once again floundering as a boss when he’s tasked with heading up the titular organization. Oddly, for as much as this would seem to be The Office Goes to Space, it actually feels far more Veep Goes to Space than Veep creator Armando Ianucci’s own Avenue 5. Recurring Veep-ers Diedrich Bader and Dan Bakkedahl are even among the government satire’s many supporting comedy ringers, joining Lisa Kudrow, Chris Gethard, Jimmy O. Yang, Don Lake, Jane Lynch, and Fred Willard. John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Lisa Kudrow, Diana Silvers, and Tawny Newsome join Carell in the main cast.
Space Force begins streaming May 29.
