Artsy, elevated horror is done. That was fun, 2010s, but it’s time to straddle stylish pretentiousness with a different genre now. Let horror be cheap and scummy again. This is the decade of artsy, elevated Arthurian legend.
As evidence, here’s the new trailer for the spectacular-looking The Green Knight. David Lowery’s take on the 14th-century tale was originally set to ring in the Roarin’ Round-Table ’20s last May, but now it’s set for a July 30 release to instead kick off Green Boy Summer. We are here and more than ready for it.
