The Invisible Man is a see-through antagonist for Elisabeth Moss in the reboot’s trailer

Coming from Blumhouse Productions and Saw and Insidious writer Leigh Whannell, the latest iteration of The Invisible Man takes the form not of a bandage-wrapped man in welding goggles but more of a vengeful ghost horror story. And it isn’t even focused on the see-through dude himself.

Elisabeth Moss stars as Cecilia Kass, a woman trapped in a relationship with her abusive boyfriend. Said man also just happens to be a wealthy, genius scientist, which will become relevant later for reasons you can imagine. This douchebag is said to have committed suicide after his breakup with Cecilia, leaving her his fortune on the contingency that she’s shown to be mentally stable. So it’s too bad that now she seems insane as she keeps trying to convince friends and psychiatrists she’s being hounded by a—how to describe it—oh, an INVISIBLE MAN.

Is this guy full-blown committed to gaslighting his ex or what?

We’ll see if Cecilia ever finally just throws some glitter on this guy or something when The Invisible Man hits theaters February 28.
