Did you think Minions had been relegated to the memes of Facebook mom groups? Well, you thought wrong. Those yellow ovoids and their grotesquely human irises have returned for Minions: The Rise of Gru, the prequel that sees Gru as a kid and the Minions getting orthodontic help. Just as you hoped!
It’s said the film is “teeming with Illumination’s signature subversive humor, pop-culture sophistication, full-hearted emotion, bold music sensibility, and over-the-top action,” which seems like a deeply delusional thing to say. We’ll find out for sure when Minions: The Rise of Gru hits theaters July 3.
