Comedy Central is joining SNL and our fever dreams in putting the simulated voice of Donald Trump in our heads at least once a week. The cable network has just announced The President Show, a late-night talk show that is the Venn diagram overlap between The Colbert Report and That’s My Bush. UCB fixture and prominent Trump impersonator Anthony Atamanuik (30 Rock) will star as the pizza grease-colored sitting president, who each week will reportedly host “desk segments, comedy bits and guest interviews from the Oval Office.” Comedian and Sonic Drive-In shill Peter Grosz will provide sidekick support as Mike Pence. The show will debut on April 27 and continue to air Thursdays nights at 11:30.
The above teaser was provided alongside Comedy Central’s reveal, but for a more thorough preview of what’s to come, take a look below at a 40-minute debate between Atamanuik’s Trump and James Adomian’s Bernie Sanders. Atamanuik’s take is so spot-on, he almost makes the Dave approach to getting ride of Trump seem viable.
