Last taken down in Mega Man 3, Gemini Man was once again defeated this weekend.
The roughly $140 million would-be blockbuster, in development for over 20 years, had current Will Smith and young Will Smith in the leads, but even their combined star power wasn’t enough to beat Joker. It wasn’t enough to beat The Addams Family either.
At the box office, Joker again took the top spot in its second weekend. Bringing in an estimated $55 million, it’s now already made $192.7 million. The Scorsese-indebted film may not officially be a part of the DCEU, but it sure has opened the door for Riddler Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
Meanwhile, Addams took second with $30.3 million, Gemini barely breached $20 million in third, Abominable fell to fourth with $6.2 million, and it turned our moms still didn’t all see Downton Abbey. The series’ film finale stayed in the top five with $4.9 million.
