Here’s one that’ll be on your radar if you’re in sixth grade and it’s 1990: Dan Ayroyd and Chevy Chase are set to star alongside some Kids in the Hall in an adaptation of an R.L. Stine YA horror novella.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Spies Like Us and Nothing But Trouble stars will join Scott Thompson, Bruce McCulloch, Henry Czerny, and teen leads Marlon Kazadi and Madi Monroe in a film based on Stine’s Zombie Town.
The book sees “a quiet town upended when 12-year-old Mike and his friend Karen watch a horror movie called Zombie Town and unexpectedly see the title characters leap off the screen and chase them through the theater.” It’s expected the adaptation will follow suit in having exactly two children and no other living beings in the theater.
Because yes, this is supposedly getting a theatrical run before heading to Hulu and ABC Australia.
