Wile E. Coyote movie has its director, but now it needs a new writer and it’s part live-action

Last year, Warner Bros. was fixing to make an animated Wile E. Coyote movie titled Coyote vs. Acme, the studio hiring Jon and Josh Silberman (Living Biblically, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) to write a script, with Lego Batman‘s Chris McKay signed on to produce.

Well, things have changed. No doubt buoyed by how great Sonic the Hedgehog is looking to everyone, now the project is reportedly a live-action/CGI mush-up. Also, now it doesn’t have writers anymore but it does have a director: Dave Green, the Sam Raimi protégé who unfortunately went on to direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Say what you will about this thing, at least the studio really grasps the Wile E. Coyote spirit of constantly screwing up and making no forward progress, yet still going on with their next half-baked scheme.
