Warner Bros. has found the boy who will follow childhood Zachary Levi’s footsteps in transforming into adult Zachary Levi.
Variety reports the studio has added young actor Asher Angel to the cast of Shazam. Angel, another product of the Disney Channel’s screen-ready teenager farm (he’s on the network’s Andi Mack), will play Billy Batson, the boy who transforms into the film’s titular superhero when he utters the name. Levi recently won the role of Shazam himself, and Mark Strong is rumored to play the villain. Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg is helming this very expensive Big remake.
