HBO has released a first look at House of the Dragon, the series that will wash the awful aftertaste of Game of Thrones out of our collective mouth with… more Game of Thrones, now with more emphasis on the family of the most insufferable character. It’s like chasing spoiled milk with fresher milk, but now it’s milk-colored hair.
Anyway, the above image shows us Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. They are terribly dressed for a beach day.

This is Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys “The Sea Snake” Velaryon. He is obviously not a Targaryen, but don’t worry: he still has nearly white hair.

And here, spoiling our Edgar Winter group theme, we have Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. Ser Otto—as he’s called to make him sound like an oil change place with a little knight logo—is Hand of the King, and Alicent is his daughter.
We’ll have to wait until next year to see whether any of them do anything but stand around the coast like Ren Faire seagulls.
